1. Terms of Service

1.1 The service

RedStarling provides a paid VPN and network privacy service.

The service is intended to help customers improve privacy, security, and reliability when using the internet. RedStarling does not make unlawful activity legal, and you are responsible for how you use the service.

1.2 Legal restrictions

You may not use RedStarling if you are barred from using the service under applicable law.

1.3 Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Do not share your account outside the number of users, seats, or devices allowed by your plan.

1.4 Plans, trials, and billing

RedStarling may offer paid subscriptions, free trials, seat-based plans, device-based plans, or other pricing options.

If a trial requires a payment method, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge you when the trial ends unless you cancel before the trial converts to a paid subscription.

Prices, billing periods, included seats, included devices, and service limits will be shown at checkout or in your account.

We may change future prices or plans, but we will not change the price of your current billing period after you have already paid for it.

1.5 Payment providers

Payments may be processed by third-party providers, such as a merchant of record, card processor, PayPal, app store, or other payment platform.

Your payment may also be subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy.

If a merchant of record is used, that provider may be the legal seller for your transaction and may handle taxes, invoices, refunds, payment disputes, and payment compliance.

If RedStarling sells directly to you, RedStarling may collect and remit applicable taxes itself or through a tax provider.

1.6 Cancellation

You may cancel a subscription using the account or billing tools we provide, or by contacting support@redstarling.com.

Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless stated otherwise or required by law, cancellation does not automatically refund amounts already paid. See the Refund Policy for details.

1.7 Service availability

We work to provide a reliable service, but VPN and internet services can be affected by networks, governments, hosting providers, device settings, software updates, payment providers, app stores, and third-party systems outside our control.

We do not guarantee that every server, location, protocol, website, app, game, streaming service, or online service will work at all times.

1.8 No promise of complete anonymity

RedStarling is designed to improve privacy and security, but it is not a promise of complete anonymity.

Payment providers, app stores, banks, tax authorities, network operators, websites, and legal authorities may still be able to identify or investigate activity in some circumstances.

1.9 Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you:

  • violated these terms;
  • violated the Acceptable Use Policy;
  • created serious operational, hosting, payment, legal, or security risk for RedStarling;
  • failed to pay;
  • attempted to avoid plan, device, seat, or billing limits.

1.10 Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time.

If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify customers, such as by email, account notice, or website notice.

Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.

1.11 Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, RedStarling disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free service.

1.12 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, RedStarling will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of business, or service interruptions.

RedStarling's total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the service during the three months before the claim arose.

1.13 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless consumer protection law in your location requires otherwise.

2. Privacy Policy

2.1 Our privacy approach

RedStarling follows a privacy-by-minimization approach.

We apply the same baseline privacy protections to all customers, not only customers in the European Union or United Kingdom. Where practical, we use the principles behind the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR as our privacy baseline.

We collect only the information we need to operate, secure, support, bill for, and improve RedStarling.

We do not want to know what you do online.

We do not log your VPN activity.

We do not log your browsing history, DNS queries, traffic contents, or the websites and services you visit.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not build advertising profiles.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

2.2 Information we collect

Depending on how you use RedStarling, we may collect:

  • your email address;
  • your account ID;
  • your subscription status;
  • your selected plan, seats, devices, and service settings;
  • payment status from our payment provider;
  • referral or attribution code, if you arrived through a partner or sales link;
  • support messages you send us;
  • limited operational records needed to run the service, prevent abuse, debug service issues, and protect the network.

Limited operational records may include things like account login events, app version, device count, selected server region, account-level bandwidth totals, and error/debug information.

We do not use this information to monitor what you do online.

2.3 VPN activity and no-logs policy

RedStarling does not log VPN activity.

That means we do not log:

  • browsing history;
  • DNS queries;
  • traffic contents;
  • websites visited;
  • apps or services used through the VPN;
  • files downloaded;
  • messages sent;
  • search queries;
  • destination IP addresses.

Some temporary technical processing may occur as part of operating the VPN connection, routing traffic, preventing abuse, or debugging service issues. We minimize that processing and do not keep VPN activity logs.

Because RedStarling does not log VPN activity, we cannot provide browsing history, DNS query logs, traffic contents, or website-visit logs that we do not have.

2.4 Payments

We do not collect or store full card numbers.

When you pay for RedStarling, payment information is collected by the payment provider shown at checkout. That provider may collect and retain information needed for payment processing, fraud prevention, tax compliance, refunds, chargebacks, and legal compliance.

RedStarling receives payment status information, such as whether your subscription is active, trialing, cancelled, refunded, disputed, or past due.

2.5 Sharing information

We do not sell customer information.

We do not share customer information with advertising networks.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

We do not put customer information into a chain of unrelated SaaS tools.

We may share limited information only when needed to operate RedStarling, process payments, provide support, comply with law, or protect the service.

Examples:

  • Payment information is provided directly by you to the payment provider at checkout.
  • Payment providers may send RedStarling subscription status, transaction status, refund status, and dispute status.
  • Hosting providers carry encrypted network traffic as part of operating the VPN service, but RedStarling does not provide them with your browsing history or VPN activity logs.
  • If you contact support, we may use the information you provide to answer your request.
  • If required by valid legal process, we may disclose the limited account records we have.

Because RedStarling does not log VPN activity, we cannot provide browsing history, DNS query logs, traffic contents, or website-visit logs that we do not have.

2.6 Cookies and referral links

We use first-party cookies or similar local storage only for basic RedStarling functions, such as keeping you signed in, remembering settings, and attributing referrals.

If you arrive through a partner or sales link, we may store a referral code so we can credit the correct partner or sales representative if you later become a customer.

We do not use referral cookies to track you across unrelated websites.

We do not sell or share referral cookie information with advertising networks.

2.7 Right to be forgotten

RedStarling gives all customers a right to request deletion of their RedStarling customer records, whether or not they live in the European Union or United Kingdom.

This is based on the right to erasure, also known as the right to be forgotten, under Article 17 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

You can ask RedStarling to delete your customer records after you cancel and stop using the service.

To request deletion, email support@redstarling.com.

When you make a deletion request, we will delete the RedStarling-controlled account records that identify you, including your account profile, service settings, support records, and referral attribution records, unless we are required to keep a limited record for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or payment-compliance reasons.

Deletion from RedStarling does not delete records held by third-party payment providers, banks, card networks, app stores, tax authorities, or merchant-of-record providers. Those providers control their own records under their own policies and legal obligations.

Deletion may not immediately remove data from encrypted backups, but backups are protected and expire or are overwritten on a regular schedule.

2.8 Data retention

We keep customer information only as long as needed to operate the service, support the customer, maintain security, process billing, handle refunds or disputes, comply with legal obligations, or maintain basic business records.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

We keep VPN activity logs for zero days, because we do not create VPN activity logs.

2.9 Security

We design RedStarling to reduce the amount of customer information we hold.

We protect customer information using technical and operational controls appropriate for a privacy service, including access limits, encryption where appropriate, secure infrastructure practices, and minimization of stored data.

The most important security measure is data minimization: information we do not collect cannot be leaked, sold, searched, or handed over.

2.10 Your choices and privacy rights

RedStarling applies the same baseline privacy request process to all customers, regardless of location.

You may contact us to request that we:

  • tell you what RedStarling customer information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate customer information;
  • delete your RedStarling customer records;
  • close your account;
  • stop sending non-essential emails.

These rights are modeled on the rights provided by the EU GDPR and UK GDPR, including rights of access, correction, and erasure.

To make a privacy request, email support@redstarling.com.

We may need to verify that you control the account before acting on a request.

2.11 Children under 13

RedStarling is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

2.12 International infrastructure

RedStarling may operate servers in multiple countries so customers can choose different VPN locations.

Our hosting providers may be subject to local laws in the countries where servers operate. If a hosting provider receives a complaint or legal demand, it may act under its own policies or local obligations.

RedStarling does not give hosting providers VPN activity logs, because RedStarling does not keep VPN activity logs.

If an upstream provider complains about abuse from a RedStarling server, we may investigate at the account or infrastructure level where possible, limit access, rotate servers, or terminate accounts that create risk for the service. We do not inspect customer browsing activity to police ordinary use of the VPN.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

3.1 Basic rule

Use RedStarling legally and responsibly.

RedStarling is a privacy and security service. It is not a service for attacking systems, abusing networks, committing fraud, or harming others.

3.2 Prohibited uses

You may not use RedStarling to:

  • violate applicable law;
  • send spam, phishing messages, malware, bot traffic, or abusive automated traffic;
  • attack, scan, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to networks, devices, accounts, or services;
  • commit fraud, identity theft, account takeover, payment abuse, or chargeback abuse;
  • distribute malware, spyware, ransomware, credential stealers, botnets, or similar harmful tools;
  • harass, threaten, exploit, or harm others;
  • access, distribute, or promote child sexual abuse material or sexual exploitation;
  • infringe intellectual property rights;
  • bypass access controls, geographic restrictions, age checks, payment controls, or technical protection measures in violation of law or applicable terms;
  • resell, share, or redistribute the service unless your plan or written agreement allows it;
  • use the service in a way that causes serious complaints, legal demands, payment-provider risk, hosting-provider risk, network abuse, or harm to RedStarling's infrastructure.

3.3 We do not monitor ordinary use

RedStarling does not inspect your browsing activity.

RedStarling does not log your VPN activity.

RedStarling does not monitor which websites, apps, services, or content you access through the VPN.

3.4 Upstream complaints and service protection

Although we do not monitor ordinary use, we may receive complaints from hosting providers, network operators, payment providers, rights holders, security researchers, or other third parties.

If an account or server creates serious operational, legal, payment, or hosting risk for RedStarling, we may take action to protect the service.

Actions may include:

  • warning the customer where practical;
  • limiting access to specific servers or locations;
  • suspending or terminating the account;
  • refusing renewal;
  • issuing a full or partial refund.

Because we do not log VPN activity, our ability to investigate complaints is limited. In many cases, the practical remedy is to restrict or terminate access rather than investigate traffic contents.

4. Refund Policy

4.1 No-questions-asked refunds

RedStarling offers no-questions-asked refunds.

If you are unhappy with the service, contact support@redstarling.com and we will refund the unused portion of your current paid term.

4.2 Monthly subscriptions

For monthly subscriptions, we may refund the current month in full if you request a refund shortly after renewal or if you had a technical issue that prevented normal use.

If you used most of the current month, we may prorate the refund for the unused portion.

4.3 Longer subscription terms

For quarterly, annual, or other longer subscription terms, refunds are prorated based on the unused portion of the term.

For example, if you paid for one year and cancel after three months, the refund will generally be based on the remaining nine months.

4.4 Trials

If your plan includes a free trial, you can cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

If you forget to cancel and contact us shortly after the first charge, we will refund the charge.

4.5 Processing fees

Refunds may be reduced by payment-processing fees, currency-conversion costs, chargeback fees, or other non-refundable fees charged by payment providers.

We do not use refunds as a profit center, but we should not have to pay unrecoverable processor fees twice.

4.6 Merchant-of-record purchases

If your purchase was processed by a merchant of record, that provider may be the legal seller and may control the refund process.

In that case, we will either direct you to that provider's refund process or help coordinate the refund where we can.

4.7 Abuse of refunds

The refund policy is meant to be customer-friendly.

We may refuse or limit refunds for repeated signup-and-refund abuse, payment fraud, chargeback abuse, or other conduct designed to avoid paying for the service.
